Sunyani Technical University (STU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bono Area Catholic Cooperative Society for Development (BACCSOD) to create internship, national service and potential employment opportunities for students of the University.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening the relationship between academia and industry while providing students with practical exposure to the world of work.
Under the agreement, eligible STU students will have the opportunity to undertake internships and national service with BACCSOD. Depending on performance and the availability of vacancies, some beneficiaries may also be considered for employment after completing their studies or national service.
The collaboration is expected to enhance students’ practical skills, workplace experience and employability while also creating a platform for stronger institutional cooperation between STU and BACCSOD.
The MoU was signed on behalf of BACCSOD by Rev. Fr. Raphael, with representatives of Sunyani Technical University present to witness the agreement.
The STU officials who witnessed the signing included Prof. Kwame Oduro Amoako, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Studies; Dr. Peter Kwarteny, Head of the Department of Accounting and Business Analytics; Mrs. Joyce Dautey, Head of Admissions at the Directorate of Academic Affairs; and Mr. Bright, Chief Accountant/Administrator of the Faculty of Business and Management Studies.
The agreement reflects STU’s continued commitment to building strategic partnerships that connect academic training with practical industry experience and broaden career opportunities for students.
Through such collaborations, the University continues to strengthen its focus on producing graduates who are not only academically prepared but also equipped with the practical competencies required to succeed in the workplace.
