STU Vice-Chancellor Awards First Tuition Cheques to Seven Beneficiaries under IP-KAIESS Scholarship Scheme to Study at Sunyani Technical University.

The first batch of beneficiaries of the Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah Innovation Educational Scholarship Scheme (IP-KAIESS) has received tuition cheques to study at Sunyani Technical University (STU).

The seven beneficiaries – Silas Kwame Omane, Mary Obeng, Razak Alhassan, Jephta Obiri Yeboah Djan, Christopher Fosu-Yeboah and Judith – are enrolled in various programmes at the university.

Launched on January 25, 2026, IP-KAIESS supports students from Atuna admitted to innovation-focused fields such as Engineering, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Applied Science and Technology, Built Environment and Applied Arts at STU.

At a brief presentation ceremony in Sunyani, the Vice-Chancellor of STU and founder of the scheme, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, urged the students to serve as worthy ambassadors of both the university and the scholarship. He encouraged them to take their studies seriously, uphold strong moral standards, and strive for success so they can give back to support future beneficiaries.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Rev. Fr. Samuel Takyi, Parish Priest of St. Mary’s Parish in Atuna, reminded the students of their social and cultural roots. He noted that declining cashew prices, an important source of income for the community, make the scholarship particularly significant and urged them to pursue academic excellence.
