Autobiography

I am Dr Samuel Wiafe, born on April 28, 1979. I come from Konongo in the Asante Akim district of the Asante Region of Ghana. Am married with three children. I have been the Dean of Faculty Engineering for the past year and also a Senior lecturer at the Civil Engineering Department. My areas of speciality are Solid/Liquid Waste Management, Urban Drainage System, Water Treatment and Distribution. My vision is to achieve agreed-upon project objectives and organizational goals consistently through learning, hard work, discipline and focus.

  • Assessed the clinical solid/liquid waste management strategies on three hospitals in the Sunyani Municipality
  • Investigated the contamination of heavy metals on both the surface and groundwater caused by illegal mining operations in the Asutifi south district.
  • Conducted numerous Civil Engineering projects for the Volta River Authority, District Assemblies, Government of Ghana and a host of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) across Ghana
  • External assessor for the Department of Civil Engineering-KNUST
  • Member of the search committee to a selection of Sunyani Technical University Librarian
  • Member of the team that drafted the Two-year B-Tech Top-up in Civil Engineering for the Sunyani Technical University.
